What is herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine has been around for centuries. In fact, you probably use it without even noticing.

Have you ever taken a ginger shot, enjoyed a peppermint tea after a meal, or sipped chamomile tea before bed? These are all simple examples of herbal medicine in action.

Herbal medicine is a holistic practice that uses the natural properties of plants, herbs, and spices to support health and wellbeing. In my practice, I work with teas, tinctures, powders, and topical preparations to assist you on your individual healing journey.

As a holistic practitioner, my aim is always to understand and address the root cause of an issue, rather than just the symptoms. Each formula I create is tailored to your unique needs, drawing on both traditional wisdom and modern knowledge of plant medicine. If you’d like to explore how herbal medicine can support you, I invite you to book a consultation or reach out with any questions.

Consultations

I offer consultations both in person and via Zoom, with in-person appointments held in a private room in Hampstead. While I am happy to accommodate virtual sessions, I generally recommend that our initial consultation, which will last 1 hour, take place in person.

During this first consultation, we will take a deep dive into your health concerns and goals. We'll also review your full health history, head to toe. I encourage you to bring any relevant medical test results, along with details of any medications or supplements you're currently taking. Since herbal medicine is a holistic practice, it's essential for me to have a comprehensive understanding of your overall well-being. This consultation will also serve as a safe space for you to share any emotional challenges you're experiencing, if you feel comfortable doing so.

After our consultation, I will take time to carefully consider your individual case before formulating a personalised treatment plan. This will not only include a tailored herbal prescription but also dietary and lifestyle advice that I believe could support your health goals.

I typically recommend scheduling follow-up consultations every four weeks. These sessions give us a chance to catch up, review your progress, and note any changes. It also provides an opportunity for me to adjust your treatment plan or herbal prescription as needed to ensure we are continuously supporting your journey to optimal health.
