What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of energy healing developed in the 1900s by Mikao Usui. Since then, it has become widely practiced around the world to support healing. Reiki is offered either through gentle touch or hands-off techniques, allowing energy to flow to the client. In this practice, the practitioner is not seen as the healer, but as a channel for energy, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Reiki can support the release of emotional and physical tension or blockages within the body.

What Does a Reiki Session Look Like?

Reiki sessions typically last 1 hour. Each session begins with a short consultation to understand your individual needs and intentions. 

During the session, you remain fully clothed, either seated or lying down comfortably, whilst I place my hands either on or just above specific areas of the body where we would like to direct the energy flow. Each person’s experience is unique; some may see colours or memories, while others simply feel deeply relaxed.

After the session, you will likely feel very relaxed and sometimes quite thirsty. It is also common to experience mental or physical shifts in the days that follow. This is normal and a good sign.
